Montbell's flagship Storm Cruiser rainwear has adopted new technology for an all new incarnation.
Use of Gore-C knit backer technology improves flexibility compared to past models. Along with drastic weight reduction measures including reducing sewing points, the jacket possesses unprecedented comfort. The edges are constructed down to the last detail using waterproofing and water repellent processes, including the use of adhesive to prevent water retention. It has a streamlined silhouette with no superfluous material. Great for use as a windbreaker and protecting against the cold.

Starting in Spring 2015, the Storm Cruiser Jacket utilizes the new C-Knit Backer technology from Gore-Tex. The waterproof breathable membrane has been laminated to an extremely thin knitted fabric. Compared to traditional the tricot used by Gore-Tex the knitted backer in the C-Knit technology yields a fabric that is 15% more breathable and 10% lighter. The most noticeable improvement is the feel of the fabric. The first time you wear the jacket you will be struck by the soft hand and slight stretch of the fabric, which eliminates of crinkling and rustling normally associate with rain wear.
Ballistic nylon is one and a half times more abrasion resistant than other similar weight fabrics and boasts three times the tear strength of nylons that are almost 20% heavier. Because of this, Ballistic nylons have allowed us to reduce the weight of many of our products by more than 50% without sacrificing the durability. We create Ballistic nylons by heating and stretching nylon fibers. Much like Tensiled steel, this process aligns the nylon molecules in each fiber, dramatically improving the strength and stamina of the fabric.

This simple, yet ingenious system is inspired by the traditional work clothing worn by the Zen monks of Japan. Samue apparel is made with ties that can be used to adjust the length of the sleeves and pant legs. Instead of ties, we utilize an elastic band that has been integrated into the pant cuff. This clever addition provides a light weight way to close off the bottom of the pant leg or quickly create knickers.
A clean, non-bunching silhouette and fully-opening sides, among other features, bring a wide range of functionality. *Fully opens at cuffs. *Opens from the bottom.
