Made from GORE-TEX material, boasting the highest level performance in the world, this model is the most breathable, most lightweight and compact model of all of Montbell’s rainwear. It is thoroughly constructed with waterproofing and water repellent processing down to the last detail to maximize performance. A smart-sewing technique was used, sewing points reduced, and seam tape narrowed, all in pursuit of reducing weight. With the superior breathability provided by GORE-TEX, combined with our new armpit zipper, the jacket quickly expels heat. It has demonstrated excellent performance in high-intensity settings like fast-paced trekking.

About Ballistic Airlight®

Ballistic Airlight® is made using the same nylon polymer as our Ballistic® material and a highly technical production process to create extremely fine, super thin threads. These threads are then woven into ultralight, gossamer fabrics that share the same characteristics as Ballistic®: one and a half times more abrasion resistance than other similar weight fabrics and boasts three times the tear strength of nylons that are almost 20% heavier. Additionally, Ballistic Airlight® is often woven using different techniques to create fabrics with radically different characteristics, such as fabrics that allow the garment to stretch or fabrics that "breathe" to release built up heat and moisture.

Since this product is designed to be as lightweight and compact as possible, it is made using very lightweight materials. When the fabric is stressed, it is possible for the membrane to darken the appearance of the outer fabric. However, this has no effect on the membrane's waterproof performance.

Product Information (38-106)

This product has been seam sealed to increase waterproof performance and prevent water from entering the inside of the product. Due to limitations in construction, it isn't possible to seam seal the pockets. Since the pockets are not waterproof, it is recommended that you place valuables in a waterproof case or take other measures to prevent water damage. Drainage holes have been added to the bottom of the pockets to prevent water from pooling.
